On May 24-28, 2021, a weekly course "Basic practical skills of pelvic laparoscopic surgery for gynecologists" was held at the Training Center "Center of Surgical Innovation ®".

The curator of the course is Roman Zhykharsky, Candidate of Medical Sciences, obstetrician-gynecologist of the Kyiv City Center for Reproductive and Perinatal Medicine.

Course expert: Prof. Chaika Kirilo.

The course was attended by gynecologists from different regions of Ukraine.

The course program included: classes and simulators, viewing and analysis of video cases, the theoretical part and vet lab. The theoretical part of the course consisted of the following lectures: "Basic principles of laparoscopy", "Uterine leiomyoma". Treatment tactics. Types of laparoscopic operations for leiomyoma "," Complications in laparoscopy "," Laparoscopic sutures "and others.

Particular attention was paid to practical classes on simulators, where cadets practiced the skills of dissection, ligation of blood vessels, laparoscopic sutures.

The classes dealt with interesting clinical cases, discussed tactics and methods of surgical treatment of various gynecological diseases.

During VET LAB practice, the participants practiced the skills of applying pneumoperitoneum, placement of trocars, camera navigation, manipulation of instruments in the abdominal cavity, learned the rules of using different energies on living tissues, applying intra- and extracorporeal sutures.

At the end of the course, course participants received CSI certificates.
