From September 3 to 7, 2019, the Center for Surgical Innovations hosted a one-week course of thematic improvement for surgeons "Practical skills in laparoscopic surgery in urology".
Course curator - Stakhovsky O., Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Oncology at the National Cancer Institute.
The students were presented with a large theoretical program, which included lectures on the basics of laparoscopic techniques, types of surgical energies, basics of laparoscopy in urology, video resources on laparoscopic urology, complications in laparoscopic urology.
Laparoscopic training was performed using a special technique based on European guidelines for basic laparoscopy for urologists. One of the days of the course program was set aside for a visit by doctors at the National Cancer Institute and assisted by a course curator in the operating room.
During the "vet lab" practice cadets had the opportunity to apply laparoscopic techniques and techniques on pigs, to test high frequency, plasma and ultrasound devices from leading world manufacturers of surgical equipment. Under the guidance of the curator of the course, surgeons successfully worked out the basic skills of laparoscopic urology: renal excretion, detection, dissection and clipping of vessels, performing nephrectomy, imposing an intracorporeal suture, stopping bleeding from injured surrounding organs.
Following the course, the surgeons received certificates of XII. The team of the Surgical Innovation Center thanks the curator and lecturers for the intensive course and wishes all the participants success in their future work!
