On April 8-9, 2016 the Odessa Grand Marine Hotel hosted an annual research and practice conference “Endometriosis, a mystery of the 21st century”.
The leading experts in the field of gynecology, endoscopy and reproduction from all over Ukraine gathered in Odessa to consider the most important aspects of recent methods for investigation and surgical treatment of this complex disease. The life surgery mode helped the conference create the atmosphere of highly professional and productive consideration.
Reputable European specialists arrived to support the initiative of their Ukrainian colleagues. Professor Michael Mueller, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic, University of Bern (Switzerland), made a presentation on strategies of a long-term therapy for the prevention of endometriosis recurrence.
Professor Nicolae Suciu, Head Consultant for Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Carol Davila Medical University (Romania), spoke about his personal experience in minimally invasive treatment of ovarian endometriomas for patients with YBC.
The peculiarities and difficulties in the recto-vaginal endometriosis treatment were highlighted in the report of Professor Andrzej Malinowski, Head of Gynecology, Endoscopy and Oncogynecology Department, Lodz Medical University (Poland).
During the conference the attendees could watch on-line broadcastings of complex surgery for endometriosis. The operations were supervised by Igor Gladchiuk, Head of the obstetrics and gynecology department, Odessa national medical university, a true master of his craft, a talented surgeon.
The presentations of the Ukrainian specialists were very bright.
The competent Odessa physicians Professor N. Rozhkovska, Professor V. Marichereda and Assistant Professor V. Kozhakov focused the audience’s attention on methods of deep infiltrative endometriosis surgery.
The experts in gynecology Professor A. Protsepko (Vinnitsa), Assistant Professor A. Lukianchiuk (Odessa), Doctor of Medicine K. Chaika (Kiev) and I. Nigutsa (Odessa) spoke about the positive experience of the leading Ukrainian clinics in the treatment of endometriosis.
Candidate of Medicine A. Stakhovsky (Kiev) considered the problem of iatrogenic injuries of the urinary ducts during laparoscopic intervention.
Professor M. Kashtalian (Odessa) was concentrated on the question of segmental bowel resection.
The message of Candidate of Medicine S. Baido (Kiev) was devoted to the issue of reconstructive surgery for deep infiltrative endometriosis.
The reproduction experts Professor V. Dubinina and Candidate of Medicine D.Koshik (Odessa) drew attention to the problem of endometriosis treatment for the preservation of reproductive function of the woman.
Professor A. Yuzko, President of the Ukrainian Association of the reproduction medicine (Chernovtsy), underscored the importance of following, as standard treatment, the Protocols of monitoring the patients with endometriosis. The Protocols of clinical management for endometriosis were also considered by Professor T. Tatarchiuk, a Corresponding Member of the NAMSU.
The Kiev specialists Professor T. Kozarenko and E. Kapustin told about modern methods of MRI and SRT for endometriosis differentiation. The report of Professor Kozarenko sparked a lively discussion of the audience.
Professor A. Zelinskiy, Vice-President of the Ukrainian Association of obstetricians and gynecologists (Odessa), decently presented the older generation of the national school of gynecologists reporting on management of pregnancy and childbirth for women with adenomyosis.
