The week course on thematic improvement for surgeons "Practical skills of laparoscopic surgery" was held at the Center of Surgical Innovation on 13-17 February 2017, tutor of the course - Ph.D. Kalashnykov O.O.
Doctors from different regions of Ukraine and Uzbekistan attended the course.
A busy schedule of the course assumed daily trinings on the simulators, visiting ORs of the National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology of O.O.Shalimov, extensive theoretical course and the "vet lab" on a laboratory pig.
CSI lecturers held a series of lectures on different topics: “The basics of laparoscopic techniс”, “Prevention of iatrogenic injuries of bileduct and vessels within open and laparoscopic cholecystectomy”, “Laparoscopic treatment of hernias of the frontal abdominal paries”, “Laparoscopic surgery in emergencies (surgery or gynecology)”, “Laparoscopic treatment of hernias of esophageal hiatus”, “The basics of laparoscopic coloproctology”, “Laparoscopic treatment of obesity and metabolic disorders” etc.
Medical equipment engineer held a seminar about the types of surgical energy, their effects on biological tissues, methods of tissue cutting and dissection, hemostasis in laparoscopic surgery.
The students improved their professional skills while working on the laparoscopic simulators practicing the skills of dissection, ligation, suturing and knots formation.
The students had the opportunity to apply laparoscopic technics and methodologies, to test the high-frequency, plasma and ultrasound equipment from leading manufacturers of surgical equipment in the ORs during the "vet lab".
The students also successfully implemented a number of operational laparoscopic surgeries such as liver resection, gastric resection, fundoplication, hernioplasty, adnexectomy, appendectomy, anastomosis.
The surgeons have received the certificates of the CSI after the course.
